1. Complete the
Meeting Aesclepius mp3 (located in the Doc Sharing area). Describe your
meditative practices for the week and discuss the experience. Explain how
mindfulness or meditation has fostered an increase in your psychological or spiritual
wellness. How can you continue to apply these practices in your life to foster
greater health and wellness?
I think daily routine is all you need to get connected with
yourself. Every day in the morning I get up take a shower and look at what I am
going to doing for the day. Then I take about 30min to myself and collect my
thought do some controlled breathing and do 50 push-ups and 50 set up to get the
blood going. Then I go to work, when I get off work I usually got to the gym
for at least 2 hour a day. Then do homework then bed. Everything I do I think
is going to help me build better habits as a health and wellness professional.
2. Describe the
saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself"
(p.477). How does this apply to the health and wellness professional? Do you
have an obligation to your clients to be developing your health
psychologically, physically, and spiritually? Why or why not? How can you
implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life?
One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself. To me
I think this means that, how can you show a person how it is done if you have
never done it. For example a lot of people that have been athletic all there
life don’t know the struggle of people that are big because if you never been
260 or 300 pounds how would you know. We are in the business of leading people
to a healthier life if they see us eating a lot of food, not exercising,
drinking, and smoking then how are they going to believe in us to help them. We
have to be leaders we have to sit the example in order to be successful.
Provide them with feedback on their strategies for growth and wellness. Would their exercises be beneficial for you? Why or why not? Do you have any suggestions for them? Would their exercises work for your clientele? Why or why not?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely this blogger exercises would work for me no doubt, but my two problem with this workout method is encouraging myself to do it, and not only that I need to start putting myself in that type of environment to stay encourage that has made this type of workout in routine, so I can develop the routine myself. No. I have no suggestions because this is positive, and it would be a good thing to work with others with this workout. This workout can work for me, and my clients. I never met this classmates before, but if he been doing this for a while it seems as though he’s in good shape, and he don’t put a lot of unhealthy things in his body like tobacco, a lot of fatty foods, and a lot people know how to follow by example. Good Blog!
Hi Darrell, Have you tried any of the exercises that have been suggested?
ReplyDeleteDo you find a sense of spiritual connection without actually practicing these types of exercises? It is great to have a connection to the self but, do you have connection to more than that? I don't judge I am just trying to get a sense of how each person fits all of these teachings into their own integral system. I hope you have a great week
